Blenheim Hand Scraped & Distressed Oak Flooring |

|
An oak floor made to resemble centuries of wear. Authentic distressed, aged and worn surface. Shows boot and stud marks to emulate a century of wear. Lightly stained and then lacquered.
Hand scrapinng is a traditional method of re-furbishing an oak floor in the 19th century. Skilled craftsmen without the benefit of electricity, scraped old lacquers from the boards with metal blades prior to re-finishing. This resulted in a smooth, but slightly uneven surface.
Our Blenheim 'Hand Scraped Oak' has also been scraped by hand to mimic this aged and worn effect, and has been distressed to emulate the effect of over a hundred years of wear including stud marks and traffic wear.
The surface is then finished with a water based lacquer that highlights the textures in daylight, making a floor that will look better and better over the years of it's life.
Can be easily installed onto battens, chipboard or plywood sub-floors using a flooring nail gun.
Once installed, the floor can be used immediately with no extra finishing required.

A well seasoned oak floor kiln dried with mositure content of appoximately 8%. Ideal as a backdrop to antique or rustic furnishings.
The polyurethane lacquer has a natural appearance but is resistant to moisture and wear and is easy and straightforward to maintain. Usually just a spray cleaner and a dry mop will restore the lustre.
The slightly worn and distressed surface ensures that heavy wear will enhance rather than detract from the aged appearance.
Board size 150mm (width) x 18.5mm (thickness) x random lengths (average around 1.10 mtrs)
