Size Guide
1. Calculate the total useable square metre area of the room and deduct an allowance of 5% for perimeter clearance.
2. Select the nearest sized mat from the 'select size' drop down menu at the bottom of this page.
3. Order a Thermatec Thermostat which can be used either in the same room, or an adjoining room.
4. Multiple heating mats can be used together to cover a large area. These should be connected via a standard junction box. If you need help to plan the heating area simply send a simple sketch of the floor layout showing metric measurements and the position of the power supply to us, and we will work out the layout showing the optimum coverage method. Please indicate your order number on the sketch.
Installation
Underfloor heating tile insulation boardis recommended to be installed over the floor. This reflects the heating upwards increasing the heating efficiency. Installation of the heating is then just a case of rolling out the matting and positioning it to cover the floor area of the room. The starting position should always be adjacent to the power supply. Cutting the netting enables the the direction of the mat to be reversed. The thermostat probe should be set within the (supplied) plastic tube beneath the matting so that an accurate floor temperature can be obtained.
A flexible tile adhesive/cement is then applied over the matting prior to fitting the floor tiles. Always make sure you obtain a solid bed of adhesive. If a semi flexible floor is being fitted e.g. Amtico, a 10mm screed should first be applied over the heating mat.
