Herringbone Wood Block Flooring
Our Dubové Parkett can be laid in a herringbone design as an engineered floor over underlay. The 6mm solid european oak wear layer is designed to give a lifetime of wear- even in a commercial environment.
The classic beauty of a herringbone floor reflects the very best of flooring techniques. Herringbone flooring, is a method of laying wood blocks in a traditional wood parquet (parkett) pattern. The blocks are hand crafted to
exactng standards providing as nearly as possible, tightly interlocking joints on all edges. Each block is locked to the surrounding blocks to give maximum strength, stability and integrity to the floor. Traditionaly, herringbone designs are made by bonding un-finished oak blocks to a painstakingly levelled and prepared sub-floor using a wood block flooring adhesive . The wood block must then be sanded smooth before being lacquered oiled or waxed. Typical skilled labour costs for this method can be around £80-£100 square metre increasing to around double this figure for smaller wakward shaped areas e.g. hallways.
The unique 'Dubové Parkett can be quickly and easily installed over conventional wood floor underlay at a fraction of the laying costs of solid flooring. Also once installed, being pre-finished, it is ready to walk on and use without further work. Once fitted it is indisguishable from a solid woo block floor in both look, feel and sound when walked upon.
Dubové Parkett flooring hardwood blocks are machined to provide a thick wear layer (approximately 6.2mm) above the tongue and groove, this enables the Block Floor to be rejuvenated many times, enabling the floor to last as long as the building!
Dubové Herringbone floor is Available in 'Vintage Oak' which is wire brushed to raise the grain. It is smoked in a kiln and then finished with a floor oil.
