Restoration 'Medieval' is an authentic looking reclaimed plank floor that is suited to todays modern environment.
The slightly uneven wear waves on the oak wear layer replicates centuries of use. The appearance of recovered solid oak boards
that have been painstakingly re-finished by hand to a rich warm hue.
However unlike a reclaimed floor costing over twice the price, Restoration Medieval can be easily installed over a concrete or heated floor. And without the risk of excessive shrinkage normally associated with solid oak flooring.
Manufactured from specially selected prime graded European oak in a nominal 6mm wear layer, with a stablizing 3 layer Birch backing layer.
Medieval is cut and machined by hand in a small family owned Slovakian mill. The lumber is sourced from FSC accredited forestry.
The cut offs that are too narrow to make into planks are used in the production of our Dubove herringbone design engineered oak flooring Scrap, chippings and stained wood are utilised for the kiln drying of the flooring- and for heating the mill.
Medieval oak can be secret nailed into a suitable wood base such as plywood or flooring grade chipboard.
Alternatively it can be laid onto a concrete sub-floor free floating over a moisture bloc underlay by bonding the tongues and grooves with PVA adhesive.
